Nowadays Chinese barbers are rare sight. There are not many left in Georgetown. This is the one my hubby and both of my sons go to for their hair cut. Both of the barber who they usually call them “uncle” of “ah pak” has been there for more then fifty years.
Simple and so much less sophisticated compare to a hairstylist?
Instruments…
Old standing fan to keep the customers “cool”
Both “ ah pak” I guess have trim thousands of heads and they are still continue doing so despite their age.

Is this the one on Armenian Street? If so, my late father told me he used to cut his hair there when family were living on Archeen Street (before I was born). I love Penang because of all these old-time little shops and people. It's just really fantastic.
I too adored this type of little shops and this particular barber shop located in Pulau Tikus area is one of them.
Hi again,
Now this is funny! When we arrived in Penang a week ago we first had a plate of CKT at Sin Hwa on Burma road and after I had a haircut at exactly this place.
Small world!
