Prai River, Penang Mainland

Two pictures taken overlooking the mouth of Prai River. The scenery and tranquility can take one’s breath away especially when view with one own eyes. Sometimes I cannot help wondering why Penang has so much to offer in terms of natural beautiful, but is always losing to its neighbouring states and country for tourism.

Annual Horse Show 2009, Penang

In the Annual Horse Show 2009 held in Penang Turf Club, one of the events was the Farriery competition. As explained in Wikipedia, farrier “is a specialist in the trimming and balancing of a horse's hoof and the placing of shoes to the horse's foot”. In this competition, we see more of the molding of the horse shoe instead. Anyway it was interesting to witness an event which can be hardly seen.

Beautiful Bonzai

The Penang Floral Festival 2009 is held in the Botanic Garden from 31st May to 7th June. These bonzai plants are groomed and shaped into different styles with occasionally trimming of the roots and branches.

These are some of the little tree in a pot that were displayed in the garden. Indeed beautiful!
